According to the Daily Mirror, Chelsea are planning to make a £10m+ move for Marseille star Hatem Ben Arfa.
The 21-year-old left winger has emerged as a target for Luiz Felipe Scolari, who could be looking for some additional attacking punch to help inspire a side whose lack of consistency has seen them fall behind Liverpool in the title race.
Ben Arfa only moved from Lyon to Marseille in the summer in a £9.5m deal, and the French international has gotten off to a very good start at his new club, with six league goals and three assists in 13 starts (17 total appearances).
It is only a matter of time before Ben Arfa makes the jump from Ligue 1, and he could be destined for the Premier League. But, I don’t think that time is right now, as Marseille likely wouldn’t be too interested in selling Ben Arfa, unless it was going to net them a sizable profit.
There also may be some injury concerns with Ben Arfa, who is currently experiencing issues with his adductor muscle, so that could put a quick halt to any link with Chelsea for the time being.
