Thanks to the British tabloid the News of the World, we now know all about Tottenham Hotspur’s crush on England internationals Owen and Cole.
According to the notorious tabloid, revived (well, sort of revived) Premier League side Tottenham are eager to reinforce their attackline in January by signing England internationals Michael Owen and Joe Cole from Newcastle United and Chelsea respectively.
Spurs manager Harry Redknapp previously managed Joe Cole at West Ham United in the first few years of this century. Cole then moved to Chelsea in 2004 and is said to be happy at Stanford Bridge.
It has now been reported that Redknapp wants to re-embrace Cole, this time at White Hart Lane. After reviving the White Lilies, Redknapp now aims to bring some exciting and entertaining football to north London.
Spurs have also been linked with the Newcastls striker Michael Owen. Owen’s contract at St. James’ Park ends at the end of the season and he is free to talk to other clubs next month.
Spurs have been linked with a number of players in the past few weeks and Harry Redknapp himself has admitted that he would sign a couple of players at least in January. Could Cole and Owen be those players?
