Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has confirmed striker Wayne Rooney is fit to face Southampton.
The 20-times English champions make a trip to St Mary’s Stadium as they face the Saints on Monday evening. The England international picked up an injury after colliding with the advertisement board in the final moments of the match against Hull City.
Rooney, along with Angel Di Maria was ruled out for last match against Stoke City as the Argentine international picked up a hamstring injury. The former Barcelona and Bayern Munich manager claims the winger will miss Southampton clash.

Jesse Lingard has been out of action after picking up an injury in the opening game of the season against Swansea. Van Gaal says the winger has recovered from injury and is pleased with his progress.
