It is believed that Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is keen on the playmaker who can also play just off the main striker as second forward up front. Draxler featured in 34 appearances for Schalke last season helping the German side to finish third in the Bundesliga standings.
There are a lot of speculations regarding Draxler’s release clause but ESPN had earlier relayed Bild’s report of the player having a €45m transfer release clause. The play maker had signed a new deal earlier this year which would keep him at the club till 2018.
However Wenger is armoured with a whopping transfer kitty this summer and it would be interesting to see if the Former Economics professor presses hard for the player in the summer.
What do you think? Will Arsenal pay over the wall like they did to acquire the services of Mesut Ozil last summer? Let us know in comments below.
