Tottenham Hotspur have been in the market for Ajax attacking-midfielder Christian Eriksen this summer, and the 21-year old has recently admitted a move to the Premier League does interest him.
He made 33 league appearances last season for the Dutch champions, scoring 10 goals. With his contract set to expire at the end of next season, it’s expected Ajax are keen to cash in on him this summer.
Eriksen did admit he was keen for a new challenge away from Ajax, but should a deal with a potential suitor not materialise, he was happy to remain with the club.
He revealed in a recent interview how he has admiration for Tottenham Hotspur and how his former teammate Jan Vertonghen, currently at Spurs, could persuade him to join should the London side make an official bid.
Ajax have slapped a £12M asking price on the attacking-midfielder, and are keen to be fully compensated rather than risk losing him for nothing the following summer.
Sources close to both the player and the club are suggesting there have been no talks with any suitors this summer, so there’s no movement to report. However, Spurs manager Andres Villas-Boas has previously admitted his admiration for the Danish international and was very complimentary when speaking about him. He also failed to rule out the possibility of his side making a bid for his services.

Tottenham have already signed Valencia striker Roberto Soldado, FC Twente winger Nacer Chadli, and Corinthians midfielder Paulinho for a combined fee of £50M.
With two players in Gylfi Sigurdsson and Lewis Holtby who can currently fill the attacking midfield slot for Tottenham, their futures could be in doubt should Eriksen join the London side.
