According to reports from the Express and Star, Leeds United are interested in signing Jonathan Kodjia from Aston Villa in the summer transfer window.

Villa are going through a parlous financial situation, and they need to offload some of their star players to raise funds. And Kodjia is one of them who could leave the club.

The report claims that Kodjia is likely to be one player who could be sold to raise funds. Kodjia joned Villa for a fee in the region of £15 million, as reported by BBC Sport, and enjoyed a fantastic spell at Villa. However, he spent most of the time on the sidelines last season due to injury.

In two seasons at the club, he scored 20 Championship goals in 51 games for Steve Bruce’s side. And now the 28-year-old is being chased by Leeds United.

Leeds United will be looking to bolster their strike force in the summer, and Kodjia will be a fantastic addition to their squad.

However, the Yorkshire club are likely to face strong competition from Premier League outfit Newcastle United. And in case the Magpies join the race, they have a better chance of landing him.
