Former Everton, Manchester City and Sunderland midfielder Jack Rodwell is currently training at the Toffees Finch Farm premises as he looks for a new club where he can continue his career during the upcoming season according to a report published by Sky.
Rodwell was last on the books of Sunderland whom he left at the end of last season following the Black Cats relegation from the Championship to League One.
He spent some time with Watford this summer on trial and even came on as a substitute for the Hornets during their 2-1 win over Brentford last Saturday but it appears that they have decided not to offer him a contract.
The 27-year-old Rodwell was once a highly-rated prospect. He is a product of the Everton youth development system and after showing signs of promise during five-years with the Toffees first-team, he earned himself a move to Premier League giants Manchester City in 2012.
However, Rodwell could not establish himself as a first-team regular within the City side and he has never really lived up to expectations.
The three-times capped England international ended up joining Sunderland in 2014 and remained there till this summer.
