Chelsea have been linked with a move for the Italy national team manager Antonio Conte.
There have been reports that Conte has agreed to take over at Stamford Bridge at the end of this season and will be the long term replacement for Jose Mourinho.
The former Juventus manager has previously claimed that he admires the Premier League and would love to work there someday. It seems Conte has finally got his wish.
The likes of Fabio Capello and Juventus chief Marotta have confirmed that Conte is indeed heading to London this summer.
The speculations are now gathering more pace after the Chelsea players liaison officer (Gary Staker) was spotted speaking to Conte’s brother, who happens to be his agent as well. The duo was pictured sitting together in the stadium for the Italy vs Spain match.
Staker worked as a steward at Stamford Bridge before being promoted as a translator for Claudio Ranieri.
Conte would be an outstanding addition to Chelsea. Although he is still not at the level of Guardiola and Mourinho, the Italian is very good at building teams from scratch and could set Chelsea up for continued success over the next few years.
He has done a similar job at Juventus. However, his first real challenge will be to take Chelsea back to the Champions League. The blues are currently 10th in the table and will miss out on Champions League qualification for next season.
