Usually the month of December offers up a congested fixture list for Manchester United, but that was not the case as two of the Reds’ games were postponed. Due to some skeptical playing surfaces away from Old Trafford, United only played four matches during the normal jam-packed, festive month, however, that did not stop the Reds from retaining the top spot in the Barclays Premier League and winning Group C in the UEFA Champions League.

Manchester United rang in their New Year with a win, but it was far from convincing, an it has unearthed some real concerns about the balance of their current squad. United could have very easily dropped even more points away from Old Trafford against West Bromwich Albion, but, thankfully, the Reds were able to fight tooth-and-nail to remain on top of the Barclays Premier League table for another week.
