According to reports in the Gianluca Di Marzio website, Barcelona sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta has dropped a major hint on the Catalan outfit’s pursuit of Manchester United target Juan Cuadrado from Italian side Fiorentina.
Zubizarretta calimed, “I don’t want to indicate any name, but we want to further reinforce the squad before August 31st. But anything can happen”
Italian daily Gazzetta Dello Sport have also confirmed the recent developments while Spanish media outlet Mundo Deperotivo have mentioned that should Fiorentina deliberately delay negotiations, Barcelona will look for an alternative in Borussia Dortmund’s Polish right back Lukasz Piszczek.
Fiorentina are resigned to lose the Colombian sensation after owner Andrea Della Valle claimed that should the right offer come in, the Italian side will be forced to part with their prized asset.
However as we reported yesterday, the La Viola have set a deadline of a maximum of two weeks to both Manchester United and Barcelona to sign Cuadrado.
The report from Mundo Deperotivo also claims that the Red Devils are preparing to table a whopping offer to Real Madrid for Angel Di Maria after the Argentine’s move to PSG fell off in the past week. The Old Trafford outfit however want to also snap up Cuadrado to cap off their summer spending spree ahead of the coming season.
