Manchester United defender Luke Shaw was linked with a move to Chelsea whilst at Southampton but the player ended up at Old Trafford eventually.
Now the English media are claiming that Shaw had a concrete offer from Chelsea and turned them down to join Manchester United. The reason for the snub was an unsuccesful chat with the then Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho.
Apparently the England left back felt intimidated by the Portuguese manager and chose to snub his boyhood club in favour of Manchester United. Shaw secured a £30million move to Old Trafford and signed on a four-year deal.
Mourinho also spoke on this matter back then and claimed that Shaw’s wage demands would have cause problems for him in the dressing room.
Now that Mourinho has taken over at Manchester United, it will be interesting to see how the duo get on and off the pitch.
Shaw has been recovering from a leg break since September 2015 and will hope to have a strong pre-season before making his comeback for Manchester United next season.
He suffered a horrible injury during Manchester United’s Champions league clash against PSV last year.
