Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola has reportedly met with Manchester United officials at a hotel in Paris this week.
The former Barcelona boss has already confirmed that he is going to join a Premier League club in the summer and the likes of Manchester City, Chelsea and Manchester United seem desperate for his services.
According to reports from France (via Telegraph), the world class manager had a meeting with Manchester United officials but the Old Trafford outfit have distanced themselves from such reports.
Earlier it was reported that Guardiola is a priority target for Chelsea and that Roman Abramovich is ready to offer him a blank cheque in order to acquire his services.
It is believed that Guardiola will eventually end up at Manchester City due to his close links with City chief executive Ferran Seriano and director of football Txiki Begiristain from their time working together at Barcelona.
However, Marca reported earlier this month that Guardiola prefers the Manchester United job and would relish the chance to work for the most decorated Premier League club in history.
The report claimed that Guardiola is a football romantic and would prefer to work for a traditional giant rather than modern financial powerhouses.
Former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has also been linked with the Manchester United job.
Dutchman Louis Van Gaal is expected to leave at the end of this season and it certainly makes sense for the Old Trafford outfit to consider Guardiola as a replacement.
The Spaniard has won every trophy at club level as a manager and is widely regarded as the finest manager in the world right now.
