Recently it was confirmed by the Real Betis President that Chelsea winger Charly Musonda could extend his stay at the Spanish club beyond this season.
The Spanish outfit are in talks with the London giants and the highly talented Belgian could continue his development with regular first-team football in Seville next season as well.
Now the local press has spoken to the Chelsea youngster and it seems that the 19-year-old is keen on staying in La Liga for next season as well. He joined Betis on a six-month loan deal back in January.
Musonda has been a regular at Real Betis and is one of the most talented players in their squad right now. The winger realizes that he needs to play regularly at this stage of his career and is willing to continue at Betis after having settled well.
The Chelsea player has spoken to Estadio Deportivo and has confirmed his desire to continue in la Liga beyond this season.
He said: “I talk to people at Chelsea every two weeks. They know that my priority is Betis. If I’m happy as in recent weeks do not need to talk every day. The most important thing for me is to play.”
“My family is happy. The weather is good, the food too and am happy in Seville. When I went to the fair the food was very good and the Spanish food is better than in England. I’m very happy here, it was very easy to adapt, the club is helping me. From the minute I arrived at the airport the feeling was good, the fans and the people of this club have treated me well and the coach too. I know Betis has been a good decision for me.”
It will be interesting to see if Musonda decides to join Betis permanently in the future. Previously he confessed his admiration for Spanish clubs Real Madrid and Barcelona.
Clearly the Belgian is fond of Spanish football and maybe he will make the switch permanent in near future.
