Today, The Times, one of the most reliable and prestigious media outlet in UK claims David Luiz has agreed terms with Barcelona yesterday over a move likely to be worth almost £30m.

Gary Jacob reports that the sale of Luiz will allow Chelsea to complete the deal for Diego Costa. The Blues have already met his £32m release clause but the deal won’t go through until after he plays for Atlético in the Champions League final.

Luiz has three years left on his contract and will fetch Chelsea a profit on the player. During the January window of 2011, Chelsea signed Luiz for an initial £17 million, rising to £21.2 million, as part of a deal involving Nemanja Matic.

Luiz is also a reported target of French champions PSG. Recently PSG skipper Thiago Silva said in an interview that he would love to see Luiz and Oscar joining the Parisiens in summer.

And Luiz didn’t rule out the possibility of joining PSG either. “We’ll see, you never know,” Luiz said when asked about PSG.
