Chelsea Football Club have confirmed that young winger Alex Kiwomya has joined the League One outfit Fleetwood on loan.
The explosive young winger has signed a month-long loan deal with the League One side and is expected to continue his development with more first-team action under his belt.
Kiwomya is expected to help Fleetwood’s stuttering attack and guide them away from relegation. The League One side are sitting 20th in the table and in the middle of a relegation battle.
The highly rated 19-year-old winger has been an integral part of the Chelsea U21 squad that won the Under-21s Premier League, UEFA Youth League and FA Youth Cup.
The player has also represented England from Under-16 through to Under-19 levels.
The talented young midfielder primarily operates as a right winger and is blessed with breathtaking pace.
The Chelsea youngster was a record holder when was 14 for having completed a 100m sprint in under 11 seconds.
The agile young winger can also play as a part of a front three.
Fleetwood manager Steven Pressley confirmed the deal and said that the club are in need of reinforcements and the Chelsea winger will add a new dimension to their attack.
He said: “We are a bit short in terms of numbers in certain positions.”
“He is a player with high potential and he fits the type of profile that we are looking for. He gives us a different dimension to our game. It is good that Alex has had experience in League 1 so he understands the environment he is coming into. We are delighted to have him on board.”
Chelsea have also agreed to loan Papy Djilobodji to Werder Bremen until the end of the season.
