Chelsea midfielder Charly Musonda has returned from his loan spell at Real Betis.
The highly talented Belgian midfielder claimed earlier this month that he would like to continue on loan at Betis and the La Liga outfit are willing to extend the loan spell as well. Betis have also confirmed that they are in talks with Chelsea regarding a permanent option to sign him.
Betis sporting director Miguel Torrecilla has talked to the Spanish version of Goal: “He’s a player profile of a very big club. You could ask for a buying option. When we get to renew it, hopefully, we could get a clause with the option, but I better not say the price because it would make you laugh.”
“It’s very difficult to find an option with clubs like Barcelona, Manchester, Chelsea, Real Madrid… it’s impossible.”
However, Chelsea have not made a decision yet and therefore Musonda has returned to London.
The young winger has made a great impact at Betis this season and ended the season as one of their key players. Musonda is highly rated by the Chelsea coaches and is expected to reach the level of De Bruyne and Hazard in future.
The player was close to leaving Chelsea earlier because of the lack of first-team football, but the Blues dealt with the situation well and sent him out on loan to Betis.
It will be interesting to see if they accept his demands once again and send him out on loan this season. It is highly unlikely that he will play regularly under Conte and therefore a move away makes sense for all parties involved.
