Brazil 3-0 Chile
2010 FIFA World Cup
28 June 2010
Brazil would cruise into the quarterfinal round with a 3-0 win over fellow South American side Chile.
It started out slowly for the Brazilians but the eventually would find their form and take control of the match. The opening goal was a header from Juan in the 34th minute as he was unmarked. The goal would open the match up as Brazil added another just four minutes later. Luis Fabiano would get a good pass from Kaka, dribble around the diving goalkeeper, and score to make it 2-0.
Chile did have some chances in the match but not many and they couldn’t take advantage. The final goal for Brazil was from Robinho who received a pass and scored with a nice curling shot just inside the post in the 59th minute.
The win for Brazil sets up a quarterfinal match against the Netherlands who beat Slovakia 2-1 earlier in the day. The two will play that match on Friday.
