The highly talented Belgian midfielder Charly Musonda wants to stay at Real Betis beyond his loan spell and wants out of Chelsea.
The young attacking midfielder was frustrated with the lack of first-team opportunities under Jose Mourinho and was therefore loaned out to the La Liga side. Now Musonda has confirmed that he is loving life at Betis and wants to stay there and play regularly for their first team.
The Belgian also claimed that it is better than playing for Chelsea’s second team. He added that he learned Spanish to play for Barcelona or Real Madrid in the future and is, therefore, keen to stay in the La Liga.
He said: “I want to stay at Betis. It’s in my head now, but next year I don’t know what will happen. I’m happy here, the Béticos want me. You never know about the future, but it’s possible that I can stay. It’s better to play here than in Chelsea’s second team.”
“My favourite clubs are from here, from Spain. Since I was young I liked Barcelona and Real Madrid. I learned Spanish so I could come here. I play for Betis and I am happy.”
Musonda was linked with moves to Monaco earlier this season and is regarded as one of the finest talents around. The 19-year-old has made 6 appearances for Real Betis so far and is already a fan favourite.
The technically gifted midfielder is thought to be on par with his compatriots Eden Hazard and Kevin De Bruyne in terms of sheer talent and potential.
