Arsenal’s move for Real Sociedad winger Antoine Griezmann looks to have hit a dead end, with the Frenchman stating his desire to remain in Spain until the end of the season.

The 22-year-old, who has also been linked with a move to PSG, told French radio station, RMC,

“Maybe I have a double that pretends to be me!” said the attacker, when asked if he had been to PSG’s training camp,

“No, I stayed quietly at home. I want to finish the season with my club. I do not want to start thinking about the transfer window.”

“The rest we’ll see in time. I have not been contacted by clubs. I think I was pretty clear in the press conference by saying that I did not want to leave my club this winter.”

Arsenal reportedly had a €14m bid rejected for the winger earlier in the month, but now it seems that Arsene Wenger must shelve plans to bring the youngster to North London until at least the summer.

Meanwhile, in a similar vein, Barcelona’s Christian Tello has said that he plans to stay with the La Liga giants until the summer, putting paid to Liverpool’s bid to bring him to the Premier League this month.

The Spaniard, 22, had previously indicated that he might be prepared to leave the Nou Camp if his first team opportunities didn’t improve; but although this may still be on the cards, Tello has ruled out a possible January exit,

“I will definitely stay at Barcelona until June, then we’ll see in the summer,” said Tello following Barcelona’s 2-0 win over Getafe (full report – Sport.es)

Liverpool had been linked with the player in the buildup to January, despite the player signing a new deal which put his price-tag up to €22m, and must now wait until at least the summer to make a move for the attacker.

The deal is far from cut and dry however, as Tello still holds strong feelings for Barca, which he made clear when commenting on Xavi’s record at the Catalan club,

“For me it would be an honor and a privilege to be all the time he has spent in Barcelona, I learn from him every day and are proud to be on the same team.”
