Arsenal and Manchester United have given a hope in signing Angel di Maria after he admitted his future is in Real Madrid’s hands.

The 26-year-old was instrumental in the Spanish capital club’s latest Champions League victory after playing a crucial role in the finals in Lisbon against Atletico Madrid. The Argentine international has long been on the Gunners and the Red Devils’ radar, who is believed to have a £30m price tag.

Di Maria says he’s happy with the 10-time European champions and has set his sights on continuing with Real. However, he wants to focus with the Argentina’s preparation for the summer World Cup in Brazil.

“No, I’m keeping calm. I’m just focussing on the World Cup at the moment. I said I would focus on Madrid until the evening of the 24th, and from then on I would focus on Argentina,” Di Maria told the Spanish newspaper Marca.

“I think I’m arriving here on good form. We’ll soon see what happens with Madrid; if they want me to continue or they want me to leave the club.”

“I’m happy. I had a great year and the fans have acknowledged it; I always had their support. Even if you’re keen to stay or looking forward to carrying on, sometimes you can’t because the club wants another player or wants to make other additions and needs to sell. And someone has to go. But I’m very happy,” he said.

Di Maria has scored 12 goals and managed 23 assists from 55 appearances in all competitions during the 2013-14 season. The addition of the Argentine star to either Arsenal and United squad this summer will further strengthen their squads.

The Gunners already signed Mesut Ozil from Real for a club-record transfer fee of £42.5m and Arsene Wenger could lure Di Maria join the Emirates club in the summer transfer window.
