Everton have recently been linked with a move for Bayer Leverkusen winger Leon Bailey.
We covered reports earlier that the Premier League club are keeping tabs on the 23-year-old Jamaican.
Everton need to add more quality and depth to their attack, and Bailey could prove to be a superb long-term acquisition.
He can operate on either flank and would add goals and assists to the side. The Bundesliga star would probably be a significant upgrade on Alex Iwobi.
Rafa Benitez must improve his attacking options if Everton are to mount a serious challenge for European football next season.
Bailey bagged 15 goals and 11 assists across all competitions term, highlighting his attacking capabilities.
Leverkusen are unlikely to allow him to leave for a knockdown price, and Everton may have to pay a premium for his services.
The club generally back their managers in the transfer market, and Benitez will be keen to splash the cash this summer.
One of his biggest gripes at Newcastle United was the lack of support from the board, but that will not be an issue at Goodison Park.
Some Everton fans have taken to Twitter to share their thoughts on the news – here is what they had to say.
If we get
Begovic
Gray
Townsend
Dumfries
Bailey
(With guarantee of some high earners being sold)
Then personally I think that would be an excellent window.— efcdzn | EFC Design (@efcdzn) July 19, 2021
If this is true then surely that’s Bernard & Iwobi leaving?

Please, please him and Dumfries and I will be a happy chappy

Don’t you dare get my hopes up, he’s the kind of player we need badly!

Would love him or Diaby. But don’t think it’s likely seeing how the board intends to spend money

Bailey, Dumfries, Begovic and (although it's gone quiet) Nunes would be an excellent window IMO.

Don’t give me hope
