Joel Campbell, the 21-year-old Costa Rica striker, who produced a stunning performance against Uruguay in the World Cup group D opener, will be given a chance to prove himself for Arsenal next season.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger will be closely monitoring Campbell during the rest of the World Cup, before making any a final decision whether to include him in Arsenal’s squad for next season.
Campbell, who joined Arsenal in 2011 but yet to make any senior appearances, can operate both as a striker or a winger, has been impressive for Olympiakos this season in the Champions League.
According to reports from The Telegraph, Campbell is set to return to Arsenal after the World Cup, and depending on how striker situation at the Emirates pans out (pre-season or new signings), Wenger will take a decision whether to hand the youngster regular first team opportunities or send him on loan again.
Wenger is currently in Brazil, working as a pundit for French Television, where he is looking for for a striker, a right back, a holding midfielder and a goalkeeper this summer.
