After a midweek that saw only one British side win in Europe, we’re back to a fantastic weekend of Premier League action, with the headline matches on Sunday as Manchester United take on Chelsea at Old Trafford and Liverpool travel to White Hart Lane to meet Tottenham.
Let’s look at the key Premier League matches for this weekend as well as the best weekend betting tips.
Manchester United v Chelsea
United have started the season in imperious form, and are a top priced 1.85 with Paddy Power and Victor Chandler
to extend their unbeaten run against the Blues.
That is the best price you will get all season about them playing at home, and given that they have bagged 16 goals in their last three games and hold the upper hand against the Stamford Bridge side in recent meetings looks terrific value which should be taken while it lasts.
Sir Alex Ferguson’s side won four of their five meetings last season, and have won five and drawn two of their last eight meetings at home.
Wayne Rooney is also looking sharper and hungrier than ever, and has bagged two hat-tricks in their last two Premiership games.
He is as short as even money (2) in places to score anytime during the 90 minutes, but Victor Chandler go a standout 2.38 and that looks a steal.
Not suprisingly bookmakers are offering concessions for this game, and one definitely worth a second look is Bet365’s free In-Play bet on the match.

Tottenham v Liverpool
United’s game is the second leg of Sky’s Super Sunday action (4pm Ko) with Spurs versus Liverpool kicking off the action at 1.30pm.
Kenny Dalglish’s men were unlucky to lose their unbeaten record at Stoke, and look value at 2.75 with Victor Chandler to get back to winning ways at White Hart Lane.
The Reds enjoyed no luck against the Potters, where they had 73% of the possession and 24 attempts on goal compared to Stoke’s 3.
It is a bogey fixture which they will be glad to have got out of the way, and Tottenham’s style of play will suit them far better.
Harry Redknapp’s side like to play free flowing attacking football, and that should enable Liverpool to hit them hard on the break.
Luis Suarez has netted seven times in the last 10 games for club and country, and is likely to spearhead the attack once again.
He looks the one most likely to open the scoring to set up a Liverpool victory, and is definitely worth a punt at a massive looking 7.5 with Victor Chandler to net first. Most firms go just 6, and he is a short as 5.5 in a place.
Both sides to score is generally a 1.73 shot, and whilst that does make some appeal the correct score market throws up some better value.
I can’t see Spurs managing to put more than one past Reina, so 2-1 at 11 with Betfred looks worth a punt.
Blackburn v Arsenal
Saturday’s action on Sky see Arsenal travel to Ewood Park to take on Blackburn, and the Gunners look a solid bet at 1.91 with Bet365, Betfred, and Boylesports to gain a vital 3 points and get their season back on track.
Rovers have won just have won just one of their last 10 Premier League games against the Gunners, and just one of their last nine Premier League matches at home.
They have also lost nine times in the Premier League at home to the Wenger boys – more than against any other opponent on their own patch.
Andrey Arshavin has an impressive strike rate against Blackburn having netted three times in five Premiership appearances against them, and looks a big price at 9 with Bet365 and
Victor Chandler.
Swansea v West Brom
The other game of intrest from a punting perspective is Swansea v West Brom, for which the Baggies look a great bet at 2.8 with Betfred.
They have kept clean sheets in for of their last five trips to Wales, and have also lost only two of their last 8 away games.
Swansea are finding it hard to cope with top flight football, and have so far not managed to find the back of the net.
The bookies can’t split the two, but in my book West Brom should be clear favourites to come out on top and the 2.8 should be snapped up.
