With that victory, City have now moved 3rd in the table, 3 points behind Arsenal and maintained their unbeaten run at home this season, thus far.
Sergio Aguero, Alvaro Negredo, David Silva, Yaya Tore scored for the hosts while midfielder Fernandinho bagged a brace as well. For the visitors, Theo Walcott (2 goals) and Per Mertesacker were on target in an enthralling end-to-end game of attacking football.
