Chelsea trio David Luiz, Oscar, and Willian have appeared in a short video to show their support for racially abused Barcelona star Dani Alves, who had a banana thrown at him during the La Liga giants 3-2 win over rivals Villarreal.
The Brazilian full-back has received widespread admiration for his response, having reacted by picking up the banana, peeling it, and taking a bite before taking a corner for his side.
It is fast becoming a symbol for anti-rasicism calls in football, with the likes of Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero, Barca teammate Neymar, Zenit’s Hulk all posting pictures of themselves eating bananas to support Alves.
