New Manchester United manager Louis Van Gaal is reportedly prepared to bring Barcelona winger Alxis Sanchez to Old Trafford in the summer. It is believed that the Dutch legend admires the dazzling Chilean and has identified the 25 year old as his top priority transfer target.
It is believed that the Red Devils are prepared to sell at least two of their attacking players in order to make space for the Chilean who scored 19 goals and grabbed 11 assists in 43 appearances for Barcelona this season. Van Gaal usually prefers a tactically flexible 4-3-3 setup which might make the future of Shinji Kagawa, Anton Valencia, Nani and Anton Valencia uncertain at the club.
Sanchez would seamlessly fit in the United side thanks to dazzling ability on the ball, his sheer pace to get past defenders and his nonchalance to cut inside with his tricks up his sleeve. The versatile midfielder can also play in a number of attacking positions which will interest Van Gaal further as the 62 year old takes charge to bring the Red Devils back on track after a disastrous season.
There were earlier reports that Sanchez was eyed by Serie A champions Juventus as the Bianconerri are desperate to mount a Champions League challenge after winning the Scudetto three times in a row. Another Premier League side Liverpool are also interested to acquire the services of the Chilean.
