Liverpool turned down Fenerbahce’s loan move for Divock Origi:

Divok Origi joined Liverpool for £10m this summer after the Reds has agreed the deal with French side Lille last term. The 20 year old has a disastrous last season and was also voted in Ligue 1’s worst team of the campaign.

Reports from Turkish media outlet Turkish Football claims that the Anfield side turned down Fenerbache’s loan bid to sign the youngster in the summer. The Yellow Canaries however signed another Serbian winger Lazar Markovic from the Reds, who provided an assist on his first start for his side earlier yesterday.

Origi however could leave the Reds in January after it has become clear that the Belgian has fallen down in Brendan Rodgers’ pecking order behind Danny Ings, Christian Benteke and Roberto Firmino. With Daniel Sturridge now regaining full fitness, Origi is expected to get even lesser gametime. Thus a loan move in January cannot be ruled out with competitions for a squad place in the upcoming Euro 2016.

Napoli pursuing a January move for Manchester United’s Marcos Rojo:

Italian media outlet Il Sussidiario has claimed that Serie A side Napoli will make a move for Manchester United defender Marcos Rojo in January.

Rojo has never quite settled down at Old Trafford having switched back and forth between centre back and left back in Louis Van Gaal’s system. The Argentine had also angered Van Gaal in the summer by missing United’s pre-season tour of America due to passport problems.

The Daily Star also reports that Monaco were very much interested in the player but the move never materialized. The English media outlet also believes that Rojo was set to be part of the deal that brought Anthony Martial to but super agent Jorge Mendes convinced van Gaal to keep the player.

But with Napoli looking to spending big in January, Rojo could head towards the exit from Old Trafford. United however are short on left backs with Luke Shaw getting injured and Tyler Blackett short of experience in the Premier League.

Liverpool-Arsenal set to battle for William Carvalho:

Sporting’s William Carvalho has been linked with Arsenal for innumerable times in the past. Well, why the deal never really took place, is anybody’s guess. The Express now believes that Carvalho will ‘move’ in January and Liverpool are also in contention for the young midfielder who is hailed as one of the hottest young prospects across Europe.

Jose Mourinho held summer talks with Lyon’s Alexandre Lacazette:

Lacazette wants to stay home until after the Euros in his country next summer. Newcastle United have also been linked with the striker, (no surprise here, given he’s French) with chief scour Graham Carr checked on the club target in midweek during Lyon’s 1-1 draw with Belgium side Gent in the Champions League.

And finally…

Arsene Wenger reveals he turned down chance to sign Anthony Martial

That’s not a surprise really given Wenger’s near transfer target misses. The Independent claims that Wenger had monitored Martial before the French youngster’s £58m move to Manchester United.

The Arsenal manager claims that he is happy over his wing options was quoted saying, “We [have] known him since he was a kid. But he’s more of a winger-type. He’s an exceptional talent I agree with you but I believe that he plays in positions where we have players like Alex-Oxlade Chamberlain, Alexis Sanchez and Joel Campbell who can play in the position.”
