Chelsea are well and truly at the core of Thursday’s transfer rumblings, with the West London club linked with two new South American attackers.
Meanwhile, a big-money Manchester United signing has been urged to leave Old Trafford in January by his national boss.
Chelsea given £30m price for Alex Teixeira
The London Evening Standard report that Chelsea have identified Shakhtar Donetsk hotshot Alex Teixeira as one of their main January priorities – but will have to stump up £30 million to land the Brazilian.
Teixeira is an attacking midfielder that plays high up the pitch for Shakhtar, with Jose Mourinho reportedly keen to land the former Vasco de Gama man in the new year to add goals to his side.
Fellaini told to leave United by Wilmots
Belgium national coach Marc Wilmots has told out-of-favour Manchester United star Marouane Fellaini to consider his future at the Old Trafford club.
With Louis van Gaal not selecting the lofty star in his usual starting XI, Wilmots has stressed that Fellaini should look for a new challenge ahead of Euro 2016.
“A player who doesn’t turn out for his club is annoying for his national coach,” The Express quote Wilmots as saying.
“Fellaini can go upfield to support his strikers, or can play on his own as a defensive midfielder. He has very good technique, can run all day long and has great powers of recovery.
“It is up to him to see whether he wants to take on a new challenge in January, if he has the opportunity to do so.”
Chelsea linked with Boca Junior starlet Calleri
Calleri, 22, is deemed as one of the brightest prospects in Argentinian football due to his exploits with Boca Juniors.
Calcio Mercato claim that the South American club will request €9 million for the striker’s services and want former Southampton bad boy Pablo Osvaldo to replace him.
