Chelsea goal keeper Petr Cech has largely played a second fiddle role to Thiabut Courtois this season. The Czech goal-keeper, who has been serving the club for 11 seasons now, has dropped hints that he could be looking to move next season.
“I don’t know what the club’s idea will be. It looks like it works well with me and Thibaut as a duo,” he told Czech newspaper Idnes, via London24.
“But that can work for one season only. I don’t want another one like this.”
He added: “There always will be speculation, I leave it for the summer.
“It will be important to sit down with the club, with the manager, to consider all the pros and cons. We will see what will work out the best.”
The 32-year-old has made only 14 appearances this season for the Blues, but Jose Mourinho maintains that he would sell him only for a “huge money”.
Mourinho still considers him as one of the three best goal keepers in the world but Chelsea could be helpless in persuading him to stay, should Cech feels like moving elsewhere for regular first team actions.
Arsenal have been heavily linked with a move for Cech. The Gunners may need a world class goal keeper in the summer and Cech could be a good option for them.
