Real Madrid are on the verge of losing arguably one of their best players of last season, Angel di Maria to Manchester United, after widespread report suggesting that a deal has been struck for the Argentine.
However, Madrid are keen to hold on to their star midfielder Sami Khedira, who is reportedly a transfer target for Arsenal, Bayern Munich and Manchester United.
According to Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti, the German international will not be leaving the club this summer.
Khedira reportedly have turned down a contract extension offer at Madrid that fuelled speculations about his probable exit from Bernabeu.
The Italian said: “The issue with Khedira has also been resolved. He’s staying and we’re happy that’s the case.”
Khedira was left out of Real’s squads for both legs of their Spanish Super Cup defeat to Atlético Madrid that led to specualtions over his future. He was spotted in Germany and was rumoured to be signing for Bayern, but it emerged he was watching his brother Rani play for RB Leipzig.
The Times claimed in July that Arsenal were in pole position to sign him but his excessive wage demands and Real Madrid’s £23-25m asking price were proving too much for a player, who has less than a year remaining on his contract.
With no formal offers on the table from any of the English clubs, Madrid are left with no options rather to use him and sell him for free next season.
