Sami Khedira is set to leave Madrid in the upcoming summer transfer window with Arsenal and Chelsea long standing admirers of the 28 year old German midfielder. Khedira has hardly played this season, making just 13 appearances for the Los Blancos and the arrival of Lucas Silva in January has seen him fall further back in the pecking order.
According to reports from the trusted and reliable Gianluca Di Marzio website from Italy who have quoted Khedira in an interview with Marca that he could leave the Spanish capital. The midfielder said, “They [Real Madrid] made me understand clearly that I wouldn’t play. If I didn’t play a single match at the end of the season wasn’t because of injuries. I lived the best years of my life here. It’s very difficult to leave this club.”
While Chelsea have their options covered in midfield, Khedira would be a great signing for Arsenal given the Emirates side need an anchorman in the middle of the park who can build from the back. The Gunners could well push for a move for the player whose contract with the Spanish capital side expires in the summer and is available for a free transfer.
