Liverpool have set their sights on Belgium’s highly rated youngster, Zakaria Bakkali, who is often dubbed as the next Eden Hazard.
According to reports from Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf, Liverpool are genuinely interested in the 18-year-old and could beat several suitors, including the likes of Arsenal, Manchester United and Real Madrid for his signature.
Bakkali caught the attention of top scouts when he became the youngest ever player to score a hat-trick in the Eredivise, a feat that saw him earn his first national team call up.
The youngster has just one and a half year left on his contract and PSV are finding it very difficulty to convince him to commit his future to the Dutch club.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger rates the player highly, while Manchester United were also linked with the player earlier in the season.
However, as per the report, Rodgers has sent scouts to watch Bakkali on several occasions and has been impressed with the reports.
With Champions League football almost now guaranteed, Liverpool could be in a pole position to snap up this highly rated winger in the summer.
