Arsenal moved smoothly to the top of the Premier League and Right Result table with an impressive win at Bolton Wanderers.
All did not go according to script at their former bogey ground though….
Emmanuel Eboue netted his first league goal for the Gunners but the Ivorian’s equaliser should have been ruled out for offside.
Arsenal still did more than enough to win, unlike title challengers Liverpool.
It seemed that Reds legend Steven Gerrard had converted his 100th goal for his only club in only the second minute against Stoke City.
However, the goal was disallowed by referee Andre Marriner – a decision described as a massive mistake by Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez.
Closer inspection by the Right Result team reveals that – in the referee’s opinion – the goal could legitimately be ruled out under the ‘interfering with an opponent’ criteria of the offside law.
