Last two competitive games. Two Trophies. FA Cup and the Community Shield. Big things are expected of Arsenal this season in the Premier League.

Arsenal have made some smart signings this summer and are expecting to mount a serious challenge for the Barclays Premier League title this season. The Gunners start their campaign against Crystal Palace at home on Saturday, where Arsene Wenger will be hoping for nothing less than three full points.

Crystal Palace on the other hand may find themselves in all sorts of trouble after reports emerging that manager Tony Pulis will hold a showdown talks with Palace officials and that he could leave the club within next 24 hours. The former Stoke City manager is largely frustrated with the lack of transfer funds available to him and consequence Palace had missed several top transfer targets thus far.

Team News: New signing David Ospina may miss the opening game of the season, while Serge Gnabry, Ryo Miyaichi and Theo Walcott are all absent through injury as well.

Central defender Laurent Koscielny is also doubtful but new signing Calum Chambers could be handed his Arsenal PL debut. Likewise, the German trio of Mertesacker, Ozil and Podolski may well miss out, following their World Cup excursions. Debuchy and Alexis Sanchez could all make their Premier League debuts on Saturday.

Prediction: 3-0; Arsenal are undefeated in their last 18 home matches in the Premier League and therefore expect them to win comfortably on the opening day.
