Arsenal will host struggling Cardiff City at the Emirates on New Year’s Day, with the Gunners looking to consolidate their place at the top of the Premier League table.
Arsenal managed a crucial win at Newcastle last weekend, with the three points propelling the Gunners back up to the summit, but only two points separate first from third in the league.
Cardiff only won one game in December, and are in a state of disarray after the controversial sacking of Malky Mackay only a few weeks ago.
Arsenal Team News:
Defence: The Arsenal back-line should remain unchanged from the narrow win over Newcastle, with Laurent Koscielny having fully recovered from a knee injury.
Midfield: Aaron Ramsey remains sidelined with a thigh injury, and Mesut Ozil may also miss out with a shoulder problem that kept him out of the win over the weekend.
Lukas Podolski should come in on the left flank, with Cazorla deployed just behind the striker.
Attack: Olivier Giroud will continue up top, but for how long as we enter the January transfer window?
Arsenal Form: WDLDWW
Prediction: 3-0 – A comfortable victory for Arsene Wenger’s side. Expect the in-form Walcott to be among the goal-scorers again.
