Once the season gets over, we the-never-satisfied football fans (speaking about the global audience), find difficult to spend our weekends without football actions on television sets. Through out the summer, we are glued to the newspapers and websites, to check the latest transfer news, usually involving ‘our own’ clubs. And most of the time, we envy the football stars for their glamorous lifestyle, as they enjoy the break by travelling all around the world, along with their WAGS.
Fly Abu Dhabi explores the most popular holiday destinations amongst the Premier League footballers. From the Info graphic below, we find, Ibiza in Spain, United Arab Emirates and California in USA are the most likely destinations for the Premier League stars.
For instance Liverpool players seem to enjoy trip to Ibiza more often than any other places. Chelsea skipper John Terry seems a globe trotter, as we find the Englishman having travelled UAE, Maldives, and Marbella during the summer break.
Interestingly, Premier League’s Spanish players prefer to remain in Spain – the likes of Cesc Fabregas, Ander Herrera, Roberto Soldado, and Alberto Moreno, all enjoyed their holiday trip this summer in Ibiza, Spain.
A possible reason why the players prefer countries like Japan, Maldives, and Barbados, is due to the pleasant climate and the scenic beauty. The gorgeous beaches in those places are a natural attraction, while the temperature during the June-July remain slightly on the higher side, which is a much needed relief away from the mundane and gloomy weather in the United Kingdom.
