According to Spanish publication Sport, Chelsea have offered €50m plus Oscar for Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba.
Pogba has been linked with a move away from Serie A over the last few months and it is believed that the only concrete offers so far are from Barcelona and Chelsea.
While Barcelona can’t complete a deal before 2016, due to their transfer restrictions, Chelsea are keen to hijack any potential move right now.
Juventus manager Allegri has always been a keen admirer of Brazilian Oscar and Mourinho is hoping to make the most of that interest as he plans to land the coveted French star.
Chelsea are thought to be willing to part with €50m in cash and Oscar in order to convince Juventus. If last season is anything to go by, Chelsea are in desperate need for a tenacious box to box midfielder with defensive as well as attacking abilities and Pogba seems like a perfect fit.
Although at the moment Barcelona seems like a more attractive proposition, Chelsea’s willingness to throw in Oscar could very well swing the deal in their favour.
Allegri has stressed on the importance of bringing in a number ten and has spoken of his admiration for Isco and Oscar.
The Brazilian has had a mixed career at Chelsea so far and has demonstrated his outstanding talent in the Premier League. However, it is understood that Mourinho does not consider him as a vital part of his plans and he is expendable in the right circumstances.
