Arsenal completed the transfer of Gabriel Paulista yesterday for a reported fee of £11.2m in a deal that saw young forward Joel Campbell moving the other direction on a season long loan move.
Campbell before moving to Villarreal has signed a long term deal for Arsenal that indicates the Costa Rican international’s future at the North London club is not over yet.
He was struggling to get regular games this season and therefore this loan is so important for his career.
“I’m very excited to come to Villarreal and I’m very eager to get started on this new stage in my career. Everyone knows Villarreal are a great club,” he said as quoted by Inside Spanish Football.
“A lot of people spoke very well about the club, the first of those being Santi Cazorla, who, when it was time, helped me decide to come here. With my style of play, I think I can adapt quickly to the team. I come to Villarreal with the intention of trying to help them in any way I can and to get minutes.”
Campbell has further added that he is ready to play against Getafe in Villarreal’s Copa del Rey tie on Thursday evening.
