Arsenal have been handed a massive encouragement in signing Newcastle midfielder Moussa Sissoko after he admitted that he dreams of a move to the Emirates.
The French international joined the Tyneside club from Toulouse in January 2013 and since then has been in fine form for the Magpies. He has been instrumental for Newcastle in their midfield.
According to The Daily Mail, Liverpool, Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain are all interested in signing Sissoko, who is valued to be around £20m. The 25-year-old also expressed his desire to play in a top competition.
“Arsenal made me dream when I was a youngster. Patrick Vieira was my idol. I saw myself in him,” Sissoko told BeIn Sports.
When asked if PSG or Arsenal’s reported interest, he said: “You will have to ask my agent. For now, I’m a Newcastle player and I am happy at the club. I want to play in major competitions and I want to do it with this team.”
It is not the first time Newcastle midfielder has flirted with the idea of joining the north London club. Earlier last month, Sissoko publicly expressed his desire to join Arsene Wenger’s side.
“The transfer market is open, so things can happen any day, but I am focused on Newcastle. If anything should happen, it will. I hope I’ll leave for a bigger club one day, but I don’t know when,” Newcastle midfielder told Telefoot.
“England is my priority. If Wenger calls, I’ll have a man-to-man discussion with him and then we’ll see. Arsenal has always been the club of my heart. I hope I’ll improve to win the Champions League one day. I don’t want to set limits to myself. I want to go higher. That’s my goal.”
