Agent of Juventus striker Sebastian Giovinco has hinted that his client will not leave the Italian club in January.
Last week, we reported that Arsenal have made contact with Giovinco’s agent as the Gunners boss is looking to bolster the squad, following the injury to Theo Walcott.
The 26-year-old has spent his entire career at the ‘Old Lady’, bar a couple of loan moves. The forward has been primarily used as an impact sub this season and it was thought that with World Cup approaching, he could move elsewhere, to get regular game time.
Reputed journalist Gianluca Di Marzio claimed that contact has been made between the two parties, with The Metro claiming a short term loan deal for Giovinco is in the pipeline.
The player’s agent however has poured cold water on those rumours claiming that although there was a request for information, but no such negotiations have taken place.
“There has been a request for information,” Claudio Pasqualin told Calcissimo.com. “But that is far from concluding a deal.
“It’s logical that interest from Arsenal is flattering and it is a matter of pride but at the moment there are no talks between Juventus and the Gunners.
“Is it possible that Giovinco could leave the Bianconeri in January? Absolutely not.”
Arsenal are also keeping their options open with reports emerged that the Gunners are plotting an audacious move for Schalke 04 forward Julian Draxler. The Gunners could also try for Giovinco in the summer, when he could be ready to leave his boyhood club, should the player’s situation remains the same.
