According to reports in the Italian media, Tuttosport, Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has been in contact with Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi.
Earlier this week there were reports that the pair have phone over the phone, but recent reports suggest that texts have been exchanged and the Portuguese manager is looking forward to working with the coveted striker next season.
According to the Italian newspaper, Jose Mourinho has sent a text to Icardi saying, “We will do great things together. Keep it up, i am following you”.
Provided the reports are true, its a strong possibility that the Inter Milan forward will move to Chelsea and join Diego Costa upfront next season. The young Argentine has been in good form this season and has been courted by several European clubs such as Liverpool and Arsenal.
Mourinho enjoys a great relationship with the Inter hierarchy following his successful spell in charge of the Italian club and with Chelsea’s financial muscle, an agreement should not be hard to reach.
Whether Icardi joins Mourinho at the Bridge remains to be seen, but Chelsea are an extremely attractive proposition for any young player and all the recent reports point towards an impending transfer.
