According to L’Equipe, Manchester United are set to complete a deal for Morgan Schneiderlin soon.
The Southampton midfielder is expected to complete his move to Old Trafford within the next week. The Frenchman has been linked with several moves away from the St Marys since January and will finally get his chance to play in the Champions League.
Schneiderlin has been one of the best defensive midfielders in the league alongside the likes of Matic and Fernandinho and is seen as an ideal replacement for the ageing Michael Carrick.
Manchester United qualified for the Champions League after a disappointing campaign under David Moyes and are keen to return to their glory days next season.
Captain Wayne Rooney has already highlighted the importance of winning silverware next season and the likes of Depay and Schneiderlin are expected to play a big part in Van Gaal’ quest for glory.
According to L’Equipe, a €30m deal had been agreed for the Frenchman and a deal could be announced soon.
Furthermore, BBC journalist Howard Nurse confirmed that talks are well advanced and the signing could be announced as early as Wednesday.

Schneiderlin has always maintained that he would love to continue in the Premier League and in a champions League club. The Frenchman has been excellent for Southampton over the last few years and will not have the chance to showcase his ability at the highest level with Manchester United.
The Saints midfielder has been heavily linked with Arsenal this summer, but it seems the Londoners have been put off by his excessive wage demands.
Swift business seems to be the order of the day as Manchester United are set to land their second big signing of the summer. The Red Devils are also looking to land a quality striker to compensate for the departure of Falcao and the misfiring Van Persie.
