French giants Monaco are preparing a strong bid for Argentine winger Angel di Maria, who is also a reported target of Arsenal.
The 26-year-old, who played a pivotal role in Real Madrid’s champions League victory in Lisbon against Atletico Madrid, has been long on Arsenal’s radar and believed to have a £30m price tag.
However, despite scoring 12 goals and managing 23 assists from 55 appearances in all competitions during the 2013-14 season, his future has been well speculated in the media.
According to reports from El Confidencial, Di Maria wants to renew his contract with Real Madrid, but still unsure about what future holds for him in the next season.
Jorge Mendes, the player’s agent met with Juventus last week and reports suggest the Old Lady are willing to match his wage demands of €5-6m per-year, an amount which Real Madrid have refused to pay.
The Gunners are thought to be interested in him for quite sometime now, with Spanish newspaper Marca reported last month that the North Londoners are planning to lodge a €40m bid to secure his services.
Now Sky Italia sources report that French giants Monaco are preparing an audacious move for Di Maria and will soon make a formal bid to sign the Argentine.
Thus, Arsenal may need to act quickly, if they are serious about landing Di Maria this summer. What you think, Arsenal fans? Let us know below…
