According to reports from the trusted and reliable TMW website who have cited Italian media outlet Sport Mediaset, Inter Milan are ready to sell their prized midfielder Mateo Kovacic in the upcoming summer transfer window.
The 20 year old youngster is one of the hottest young prospects across Europe and has been attracting interest from several English heavy weights.
The report states that Inter would have to sell the attacking midfielder to cut their costs and have a quoted €30m price tag on the player.
Kovacic joined Inter Milan back in January 2013 in a deal worth around £11m and has quickly grown to be one of their key players. The Croatian has an immaculate passing range with great close control and has the eye for a pass which helps him to create goal-scoring opportunities in the attacking third.
A move to Liverpool would make sense for the player given Brendan Rodgers has shown enormous faith on young players to prosper.
Earlier there were reports that Rodgers is planning to sell Mario Balotelli and Fabio Borini from the squad to make room for more attacking talent. Playing with Philippe Coutinho and Raheem Sterling in the attacking triumvirate, Kovacic will have Daniel Sturridge up front to look for passes.
The Reds though will find it difficult given that United and Arsenal are also interested and missing out on the Champions League might mean, Kovacic could turn the Anfield side down. So where the player is heading next? Let us know in comments below.
