Martin Odegaard transfer has taken all sorts of twists and turns in the past one day. He will turn 16 tomorrow and will be eligible to sign a professional contract. The Norwegian prodigy is seen as the next-big-thing in world football, and several European heavy weights – Real Madrid, Manchester United, Barcelona, Liverpool, and Bayern Munich – have set their sight to grab his signature.
He is that special. Already being compared with next Lionel Messi, the kid has made history by becoming the youngest ever player to play for the national team in a European qualifying game. Indeed, that is some achievement!
The youngster was at Anfield earlier this month, where he was seen dining with Reds forward Philippe Coutinho and even trained with Liverpool first team. It was a great moment for him, as he is a self confessed Liverpool fan.
He will be able to sign a professional contract when he turns 16 on Dec 17 and is a self-confessed Liverpool fan, like his father, who accompanied him to Liverpool city.
He said recently in an interview to Bild as quoted by Telegraph:
“Liverpool have always been my dream club. But I will not let this affect my decision when I choose a new club. It’s all about finding the team that is best for me and for my development. That is not necessarily Liverpool.
I haven’t really thought about my future yet. I will end the season here and then visit a number of clubs. I have not made a final decision yet, though. Of course, it’s flattering when you hear that big clubs are after you, but I don’t think about it too often.”
Today, German Sport 1 claimed that Bayern Munich have won the battle to sign Odegaard, and that he can sign a contract as early as tomorrow. Bundesliga expert Clark Whitney shared his thoughts on twitter:
Sport1: Martin Odegaard has chosen to join Bayern Munich. He’ll sign a contract on his 16th birthday, tomorrow. Thoughts to follow

Odegaard too young to sign a long-term deal, and he still has years to go before having a chance at playing in the Bayern senior team — Clark Whitney (@Mr_Bundesliga) December 16, 2014
Big benefits of Odegaard signing: 1) Good poster-boy for Bayern academy. 2) Puts FCB in best position once he’s of age to sign a pro deal

Personally think Odegaard would have better conditions to develop at Schalke, even before the senior team, but smaller clubs never an option — Clark Whitney (@Mr_Bundesliga) December 16, 2014
Bayern need to take advantage of the Odegaard signing by investing in academy, options to make the youth teams & reserves more attractive

However, there has been many twists in his transfer saga, and we present you another twist in the tale. Norwegian news media VG, who obviously will have a better than info on their player, claims the youngster is currently training with Arsenal.
We reported last time as well, the player will be given time to decide on his future. As it stands he won’t be signing any deal for Bayern, contrary to reports, and won’t be signing for Arsenal or Liverpool either.
