Manchester United 2014 Transfers Update: Ins, Outs and Future Signings

Ander HerreraManchester United have added two players to their squad as the Red Devils completed deals for Ander Herrera and Luke Shaw last month, along with Vanja Milinkovic.

The Spaniard arrived from Athletic Bilbao as the Premier League outfit managed to seal a deal for the midfielder after failing to land him last summer. The Old Trafford club needed a central midfielder and the addition of Herrera could help the answer for their midfield crisis in the last few seasons.

Patrice Evra has been a regular inclusion in the left back position over half a decade and the French international has been a key character in United’s squad. However, the defender ageing has seen his defensive abilities being exposed in the last few season.

Evra is still exceptional when he goes up front to support the wingers during attack. It is when it’s time to track back, the Frenchman faces trouble. With the addition of Shaw, the England international will be the next first choice left-back in the squad.

United new manager Louis van Gaal has hinted the club will not make any additions this month and will leave it late till the Red Devils make more signings. It is unlikely though Milinkovic could get a place in next season’s starting lineup.
