Manchester United target Marco Verratti could be set to leave Paris Saint-Germain this January with Spanish La Liga heavyweights Real Madrid and German Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich both linked with a move for the young Italian.
French newspaper Le 10 Sport have broke the news that the two footballing giants are in the hunt for the highly-rated Verratti.
However, a transfer would not be cheap. The report states that Real Madrid and Bayern Munich both saw their €50 million bids rejected for the 22-year old.
The German club ended up signing Real Madrid’s Xabi Alonso instead, whilst Real Madrid signed Toni Kroos from Bayern Munich.
A departure for Verratti seemed out of the question back then but the midfielder continues to be linked with a move away from the French champions.
Le 10 Sport‘s information says that both Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are to come back in for the 10-time Italian international again in January.
Manchester United were still linked with Verratti in September but face a tough battle if they’re to beat Real Madrid and Bayern Munich to his signature, and that is only if he leaves Paris Saint-Germain.
Verratti has been a regular in the PSG side since arriving from Italian Serie A club Pescara in 2012. He scored his first goal for the club against Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League earlier this season.
