Manchester United have made an offer for AS Monaco left-back Layvin Kurzawa according to reports in France.
Le 10 Sport are claiming that the Premier League giants have made an offer of €15 million (£12m) for the 22-year old.
United appear to be on the offensive to add a new left-back to their squad in January, whether as backup or a replacement for summer signing Luke Shaw.
It is no secret that manager Louis van Gaal has not been impressed by Shaw’s fitness since arriving back from the World Cup with England during his first few months in charge.
Marcos Rojo who was also signed over the summer has been playing in the centre of the Manchester United defence of late which appears to be van Gaal’s preference for the versatile defender.
Layvin Kurzawa is a very attack-minded left-back who broke into the Monaco first team last season. He often bombed forward in Claudio Ranieri’s diamond formation and over the winter period he had a string of scoring five goals in nine Ligue 1 appearances as they tried to keep pace with leaders and eventual title winners Paris Saint-Germain.
Le 10 Sport suggests that Monaco are mulling over the bid from Manchester United for their highly-rated full-back, but given the money spent by the English club over the summer this would surely be considered good business if they pull it off.
