Ever since Barcelona’s transfer ban had been moved, they have dominated the back pages of newspapers. One can get the feel, this is going to be a massive summer for them. Under a new manager, new signings are expected to arrive, while a massive exodus is on the cards as well.
Already, the Catalan club are working on selling Cesc Fabregas to Chelsea, Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo reports that Barcelona can also get a lot of money for Chilean forward Alexis Sanchez, who according to some sources is sought after by United and Juventus, or for Pedro Rodriguez, who has left a lot of questions marks about his future in his last press conference. It’s unlikely that both will depart, but one of them is likely to leave.
Last week, Italian newspaper La Stampa reported that Manchester United have joined the race with Liverpool and Juventus to sign Barcelona winger Sanchez, who would cost around €25m.
Premier League clubs have shown also shown an interest in the player, with Italian radio station, Sport Mediaset, reported earlier that Liverpool were preparing a formal bid for the winger.
Manchester United and Liverpool are also interested in Pedro. The 26-year-old, who is also valued at €25m, said in an interview as quoted by Sport: “I don’t know what my future is. For now, I’m focused on Spain and the World Cup, that’s the most important. When I have to decide my future, I’ll talk with the club and we’ll see what’s going on.”
Spanish media now reporting that Manchester United could sign either of the players. But with Red Devils having other targets as well, can we see the Red Devils sign either of these players? Let us know below.
