Manchester United go into the international break top of the league but face a tough September with home ties against Arsenal and Tottenham to go with Champions League clashes with Celtic and Benfica.
A steady run through September – and there is every chance that Manchester United can pull it off (you’d expect United to win home games against the Spurs and the Gunners) – United should retain their top position in the Premiership table and further enhance their challenge to Chelsea’s title defence.
A lot will depend on United’s early season form in the Champions League – after last year’s humiliating first round exit (where we were 4th in our qualifying group) there is considerable pressure on United to perform closer to expectations this time around.
